Atlas

From open science to a page you can trust

We don’t copy other websites. We compute every page from open scientific datasets and cite each source.

  1. 01Collect

GeoNames, WorldClim, CRU, NOAA, Wikivoyage, Wikidata, GBIF and government travel advice — bulk and live.

  2. 02Clean & match

Historical places removed; every town matched to its region, climate grid, sea cell and guide.

  3. 03Compute

Go score, sea season, rain days, sunshine, daylight, nearest airports and similar climates for each place.

  4. 04Publish with sources

Every section shows where its data comes from and when it was last updated.

How is the go score calculated?

The go score (0–100) rewards daytime highs of 22–27 °C, mild nights, sunshine and few rainy days. Thermal comfort makes up most of the score, then rain days and sunshine. Months with frosty nights are scaled down.
