Everything on Atlas of Seasons is general information to help you plan. It is not professional, legal, medical or safety advice. Here is how to read it.
Weather forecasts
Forecasts come from numerical weather models (via Open-Meteo) and are updated several times a day. Like every forecast, they become less reliable the further ahead they look.
Climate averages
Monthly temperatures, rainfall, sunshine and sea temperatures are long-term averages from scientific datasets such as WorldClim, CRU and NOAA OISST. They describe typical conditions, not what will happen in a particular year; climate change and local microclimates can shift them.
Crowds, scores and “best time” verdicts
Tourist-crowd levels and best-time ratings are modelled from statistics (for example Eurostat and World Bank arrivals), reader interest and climate comfort. They are estimates meant for comparison, not official visitor counts.
Holidays and events
Dates of holidays that follow lunar calendars — such as Eid al-Fitr and Eid al-Adha — can move by a day depending on local moon sighting. Public-holiday rules can also change. Please confirm locally.
Safety and entry requirements
Our safety notes summarise official travel advice from the UK FCDO and the US State Department at the time it was retrieved. Advice changes quickly: always check your own government’s latest guidance. We do not cover visa or health entry requirements — check them with the relevant embassy.
Prices, opening times and places
Price levels are indicative, based on international comparisons. Attractions, airports and other facilities may change, close or move; check with the operator before you go.
Affiliate disclosure
Atlas of Seasons is free because of partnerships. When you search or book accommodation through the hotel map (provided by Stay22) we may earn a commission from the booking partner, at no extra cost to you. Commissions never influence our rankings or climate verdicts, which are calculated from data. We may also show clearly labelled advertising in the future.
