Der Stadtteil Madinat Nasr, auch Nasr City oder Nasser City , gehört zu jüngeren Stadtteilgründungen von Kairo. Er befindet sich südlich von Heliopolis und östlich von al-Wayli und al-Gamalīya. Die Straßen (Salah Salem St, Uruba St, El-Sayid el-Merghany St.), die Heliopolis von Madinat Nasr trennen, führen direkt zum Flughafen von Kairo.
Madīnat Naṣr wurde im äußersten Osten der Stadt seit den 1960-er Jahren angelegt. Die Namensgebung stammt vom damaligen ägyptischen Präsidenten Gamal Abd en-Nāṣir (1918–1970), der sich auch selbst in die Stadtplanung mit eingebracht hat. Heute ist Madīnat Naṣr die Wohnstadt der meisten Einwohner Kairos und besitzt eine Fläche von 250 Quadratkilometern. Die Hochhaussiedlung mit ihren vorwiegend Eigentumswohnungen hat kaum Sehenswertes zu bieten. Nichtsdestotrotz ist es der wohl florierendste Stadtteil mit einer relativ jungen Bevölkerung, zahlreichen Supermärkten, Kinos und einem großen Stadion. Das Leben und die Kultur sind stark an die der Golf-Staaten angelehnt, auch, weil viele der hier Lebenden als Gastarbeiter in diesen Staaten ihr Geld verdient haben. Der Stadtteil beherbergt mehrere Regierungsgebäude und das Cairo International Conference Center.
Der Stadtteil kann mit Auto, Taxi, Bussen, der Metro und der East Cairo Monorail erreicht werden. Metro Die Metrolinie 3 durchquert den Stadtteil. Eine mögliche Station ist . East Cairo Monorail Die am 9. November 2025 eingeweihte Einschienen-Hochbahn (مونوريل القاهرة) verbindet die Haltestelle in Madīnat Naṣr an der Metrolinie 3 über 22 Stationen mit der Haltestelle in der New Capital. Die Linie erstreckt sich über etwa 56km. Weitere Haltestellen im Bereich von Madīnat Naṣr sind von Westen nach Osten , , , , und .
Die wenigen Sehenswürdigkeiten haben Bezug zur jüngsten Geschichte: Ca. 1 km südöstlich befindet sich das pyramidenförmige Ehrenmal, das und das Grab des ägyptischen Präsidenten Anwar as-Sādāt, Tarīq an-Nāṣir, südlich des Stadions. Der Ort kann nicht verfehlt werden, liegt er doch unmittelbar nördlich des Paradeplatzes am Tarīq en-Naṣr.
Dieses Denkmal erinnert in propagandistischer Weise an den Durchbruch der ägyptischen Armee durch die israelische Bar-Lev-Linie auf dem Sinai am 6. Oktober 1973. Dieser Achtungserfolg ist sicher Grundlage für die späteren Sinai-Verhandlungen zwischen Ägypten und Israel.
