i Khulo is a townlet (daba) in Adjara, an autonomous republic in southwest Georgia, 88 km east of the regional capital Batumi, in the upper valley of the Adjaristsqali River. The town and adjoining 78 villages form the mountainous Khulo District (Raion), which has an area of 710 km2 and a population of 23,327. It is inhabited by Adjarians, an ethnic subgroup of Georgians.

Daily mini bus from the main bus station in Batumi, 2-3 hours, 6-8 lari. Infrequent bus service to Akhaltsikhe and Adigeni through the Goderzi pass. Hitch hiking is easy if you know a few phrases in Georgian or Russian.
Khulo is easily walkable.
Take the cable car across the valley. The cable car stretches 1700 m across and a ride takes 10 minutes. The cable car is used for daily means of transportation by the locals.
A number of shops and restaurants are located around the bus stop and in the upper part of the city.
There is a minor hotel right next to the bus stop. 15 lari for a clean room with toilet and shower. Other option may include home stays. The tourist information office can assist you.
